The INGV Branch in Bologna

 

The researchers of the "Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia"(INGV) are involved in multidisciplinary studies of the dynamical processes of the Earth′s system (Seismology, Volcanology, Climatology, Oceanography) and the mitigation of the natural disasters on the human activities(seismic and volcanic hazards; operational oceanography).

The Bologna branch provides scientific and managerial support to the activities of GNOO.

Strong links and cooperations are active with other INGV branches and international research centres; in particular in collaboration with the Physics Department at the Bologna University (Dipartimento di Fisica dell’Università di Bologna) it has been activated a PhD course on Geophysics .

Reaching us

By car

Arriving from any direction, get off the freeway and continue on the 'tangenziale' until exit n. 7/7bis (via Stalingrado). Follow via Stalingrado for about 1 km, then turn right on via Liberazione. After 600 meters turn left on via Ferrarese and left again on via D. Creti.

By plane 

Bus  BLQ connects the Airport to Central Station in about 25 min.

By train

From Central Station by bus 25 (destination Dozza), 35 (destination Rotonda Baroni), 21 (destination Magazzari), or by feet (about 10 min.), follow via Matteotti, via Ferrarese, p.zza dell'Unità, via D. Creti

From the city center

In 10 min. by bus 11A (destination Bertalia), 11B (destination Rot.Giardini), 11C (destination ITC Luxemburg), 25 (destination Dozza), 27 (destination Byron)
